There is no longer a requirement to have landlord and tenant signatures on the PRTB’s Tenancy Registration Form. This applies to all Tenancy Registration Forms submitted on or after the 15th of July 2009. The PRTB have amended the Tenancy Registration Form to reflect this new rule and for the up-to-date version of the Form please click here. Previously the PRTB refused to register a tenancy if the tenant’s signature was not on the Form causing problems for many landlords.
Another welcome amendment to the Form is that there is now a box on page 2 which the landlord can tick if the tenant’s PPSN cannot be ascertained by reasonable enquiry.
Remember to register your tenancy and pay the €70 registration fee within one month of the commencement of the tenancy, otherwise the registration will cost you €140.
